First Post!: Introduction
Hello, my name is Jacoby Sherman. I am a sophomore here at The University of Tampa, and I am an advertising and public relations major with a business administration minor. I am originally from a small town in upstate New York called Woodbury, which is about an hour north from New York City. Since I am from New York I tend to have that classic outgoing, friendly, and loud New York attitude. I am huge animal lover, and I enjoy cooking, hammocking, going to the beach, and spending time with my friends and family. I am the marketing director of the Chabad, a jewish organization on campus, and I am a part of the hammocking club. I am a huge people person, so naturally I love to talk and to get to know people. That is why I decided to become an advertising and public relations major, to use my people skills for the better. Also, ever since I was little I had a huge interest in art. My love of art carried me through out all of my schooling, and as a senior in high school I became an art major and graduated with a distinct art degree.
Now shifting gears, I am extremely nervous for this class. I am not the best with computers and programs like photoshop and what not. Those things just don't come naturally to me, however I am looking forward to learn more and hopefully leave this class with more knowledge about those programs than what I entered into the class with. From what I've gathered the class to be, I think I will be pleasantly surprised with how much I will eventually like the class because of my love for art and this classes overlap with art. I expect that I will struggle a bit in this class, but at the end of the day walk out of the class with a significant amount of knowledge I will be able to use within my field. I am excited to learn from this class in order to apply it to my future career and add some things to my portfolio.
